This was far from a standard painting and decorating project. The condition of the rooms and the amount of preparation required presented a significant challenge, with extensive remedial work needed before any finishing could begin. Although the scale of the work initially appeared somewhat overwhelming, the team approached the project with a high level of professionalism, care and attention to detail.
The existing walls were stripped back completely, removing all old wallpaper and loose or damaged finishes. Areas requiring additional repair were carefully brick-bonded and made good before being skimmed to create a sound, level surface. The walls were then re-lined where necessary to achieve a consistent finish, before being thoroughly prepared and painted.
The attention to detail throughout the preparation and finishing stages has made a real difference to the final result. Despite the challenging starting condition, the team have transformed the rooms and achieved a clean, sharp and high-quality finish, allowing the character of the spaces to really stand out.
